I will look up the limitations in sport by WADA but i think its around the 12-15 mg·mL
Sweet bump.

Also:

The status of caffeine has not changed from last year. Caffeine was removed from the Prohibited List in 2004. Its use in sport is not prohibited.

Many experts believe that caffeine is ubiquitous in beverages and food and that reducing the threshold might therefore create the risk of sanctioning athletes for social or diet consumption of caffeine. In addition, caffeine is metabolized at very different rates in individuals.

Caffeine is part of WADA's Monitoring Program. This program includes substances which are not prohibited in sport, but which WADA monitors in order to detect patterns of misuse in sport.

The 2010 and 2011 Monitoring Programs did not reveal global specific patterns of misuse of caffeine in sport, though a significant increase in consumption in the athletic population is observed.

And the limit is 12-15 mg but you have to be shotgunning coffee to reach that limit.

Every time I drink coffee before I work out I end up talking to random people at the gym.

If I drink caffeine, I lose a rep or a couple pounds off my lifts. For me, anything that constricts veins and arteries = weaker. Anything that opens them (nitro?) = stronger.

But if you are going for a long workout without much maxing out, it probably doesn't hurt. I would say drink coffee and then lift about as heavy as you can, and then drink water and do the same, whichever makes you stronger is what you should go with.

I feel like I'm the only person in the world who can't stand coffee. Also pre-workout is too expensive, energy drinks have too much junk in them(as well as being pricey.) I would really love to get a good dose of caffeine before a workout, any good, cheap alternatives?

It is pretty well documented that caffeine helps.

You could always get caffeine pills and pop one before you train.

I pop a pill before every workout. Problem is even though I avoid caffeine other than when I workout I still built up a tolerance quickly.

Also I've noticed caffeine makes your cardio go to hell. I never have any kinds of large amounts of caffeine before BJJ.

The USAPL uses the USOC rules for testing, which limits the levels of caffeine you can have and still pass.

I like caffeine, but try to keep my use down (unless I'm really tired or lacking energy) so that I don't acclimate the the point where I need to use a lot to get any effect. Then I can have an energy drink before a comp and have it actually be effective.

Isn't that just WADA?
