What constitutes exercise? And how long should one exercise to counter balance a high fat diet?

The healthy fat in salmon is saturated fat. I find it hilarious when mainstream fitness/nutrition articles are always saying saturated fat is evil, but they've jumped on the coconut oil trend. Coconut oil is pure saturated fat.

Why is it so hard to convince people saturated fat is good for you?

I'm just wondering if exercise is the X factor. If saturated fat is bad for the average american, but among athletes, it is perfectly fine and perhaps even beneficial to get more sat than poly and mono.
The x-factor is good data vs. not so good data.

This study is a crock of shit - the rats were eating 40% fat. Not surprising that the lard rats went stupid.

Unless your diet is half lard, you're not eating that amount of fat so there's no way you can apply this to humans.

Its in the article.

The exercising rats were doing the equivalent of a half hour jog. That countered their diet which was half fat.

Here is another article that discusses the study. Can anyone find this study? I wish they would link it in their articles. They just say it's a 40% saturated fat diet and that the rats would run on treadmills or wheels or whatever rodents in captivity run on.

This isn't anything new. You can induce metabolic, neural, and unspecific biological dysfunction in mice on high glucose diets, high fat diets, high fructose diets, and standard american diets (processed food); and exercise can improve any of these negative outcomes. There are a million ways to skin this cat. Why is anyone surprised?
