nice single leg set up from ben askren

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAiUjF1YQmE

I do not know how to embed. But anyways,

for all of you good wrestlers (Dirty Holt) on here, is this an effective set up? I mean ben askren is an olympic wrestler so it obviously must be somewhat legit, but it seems to good to be true haha

It's a simple and great setup.

It's basically just baiting them into an armdrag for the high single.

Haha, I've been hitting this for a couple years with the baiting and everything. Had no idea that it was someone's else move. I find it works really well for me and very useful.

I've been playing around with it a little bit. At the very worst, you don't get the single and you just stand right back up without getting caught underneath him.

do you have any success with it? My problem is I can finish the single leg really well with a barzegar finish. Everytime i snatch a leg up i can finish it. But i have trouble actually snatching up the leg and getting the single leg.

^ What finishes do you usually go for once you have the single?

the barzegar finish is what i hit all the time, which is basically when you switch off to a double. I have long arms so thats why i use it so much.

Eh... sometimes. Listen, whatever you drill the most is what's going to work for you, but as a general rule of thumb, keep it simple. My highest percentage set up is popping the arm when he reaches for my head and then shooting for the single leg. Works even better if you're leading with your left and he's leading with his right, or vice versa.
