AM Training


Log
Feeling weak today. Got a couple push presses with a thick 165lb log. Also cleaned the normal 200lb log a couple times. The clean is finally getting better.

Atlas Stones
Minimal work with a 150lb stone up to a height around my shoulders.

Deadlift
Worked up to a 180kg double from a deficit in my oly shoes. Bar was a quarter inch above my laces. Easy reps.

Squats felt strong today although back was a little tight to start. Happy with the speed on 355. 365 slowed a wee bit at one point, but still felt good. Developing confidence under heavy weights and grinders again.

First work-set with the press was fuggin' hard. Really happy that the next 4 sets went up easy peasy. Just an FYI, 155 is the most I have ever strict pressed. That's my PR from Dec 2010. That completes cycle 3 of the Cratos' Press Program.

Quick super set of RDLs and face pulls. Gym was closing.

2 hours in the gym this evening.

I was This close | | to driving to Merivale Y on Sunday morning. My Y closed the entire facility for fucking employee training. Personally I don't think training them will make a difference, and closing the entire facility for it? I was super pissed! No other gym in Brockville opens on Sunday, not even CrossFit. One gym said that they were open on Sunday for 8 months and had two people in all that time show up!

Anyway, does Merivale have a play care for teh babies?

Left knee hurts. Banged it on something at school today and it was achy. Had to use knee sleeves and it still was a bit sore. Easy squats though.

Went to chiro this morning, he did some work and back has been feeling different all day. Didn't really bother me on squats, but did feel a wee bit different. Started off with some SMR, but didn't change the feeling.

Rehbands by necessity since left knee is still sore from banging it. Fortunately it didn't bother me at all for the reps at 315. Surprisingly it started to ache as I was backing off.

Easy pressing. This is cycle 4 now.

Quick accessory.

Walked to and from gym (about 20 mins). Gorgeous evening.

Losing tightness on the back off sets? I get some knee pain if I don't contract my hamstrings, have to mentally fire on light sets because I don't require the muscle recruitment.

Smart! Very possible that was the case. Hoping this knee pain doesn't linger too long. I just remember it was pretty excruciating in the same vein as banging your ulnar nerve (funny bone) and has just been achy since.

How come you haven't been increasing the weight for your singles? I always see you doing singles with 315, no more and no less.

This makes it sound like you went to the chiro and your back felt worse. Please explain (what did the chiro do to it and how did it feel different)?

Also, how did you bang your knee (did you just directly bang your kneecap pushing it towards the knee joint?), where is the pain located and in which movements/activities does it hurt?
