most people try to hold in their stomachs and in most sports you are trained NOT to do that to breathe better i was told to almost push out your stomach when taking deep breaths.. i would assume over time the stomach gets used to the pushing out kind of the way a trumpet players cheeks puff up just an idea...

Is it safe for them to get down to 2 percent body fat?

Athletes have to take in adequate amounts of protein to maintain muscle mass, and they still have to take in adequate amounts of carbohydrate to maintain optimal training intensities. If they do this properly, they can maintain heavy workout sessions and lose fat without compromising their performance.
5'10 145 with a 245 lb bench and 310 squat. how much room do you think i had for fat

Seems like 30% of people here are below 8% in body fat. Please post your abs, I'm sure you are "ready for teh beach". You must be fucking LEAN to be under 9%. Stop the bullshit.

And yes, GSP's belly sticks out in some pics. I don't know why, in some pics he looks normal (well, extremely lean but still normal).

In before anyone calls me "titties". I'm about 16 -18%

GSP is using HGH, period

I'm not a GSP hater. I'm just speaking facts and common observation. Before bashing this, please look at the links and think critically about what I'm saying.

I believe GSP and many fighers are using HGH, and I think his distended stomach is proof of this. Here's my reasoning behind this:

1. I've trained at multiple gyms in California and Oregon, competed myself as an amateur submission wrestler and made friends with pro fighters, some in the UFC. It is a well known fact inside the mma world that HGH is very common. It is humorous to fighters that so much of the focus is on testosterone and other ped's that are testable. You can only detect abnormal HGH levels very shortly after they are administered.

2. In multiple interviews, Chael Sonnen has eluded to what I just mentioned, stating that the media is focusing on one thing, and ignoring the legal ped that people are using. But he won't flat out say what it is. I'm pretty sure HGH is what he's referring to.
Look at 2:04 and especially 4:08-4:26
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5r3HCn0Mts

3. If you look at GSP's fights when he was younger, he was still muscular and ripped, but even when he's breathing hard, his abs don't distend like they do now.

his stomach when he was younger:

His stomach now (this clip is not right after a weight cut, which dispells people's arguments that his stomach only distends at fight time)
Look around 2:44. His body fat% is very low, but his stomach is sticking out a lot.

4. If anyone does their research, they'll see that the distended stomach, despite having a low body fat% is one of the biggest signs of HGH usage. Your internal organs grow and make an almost pregnant look, despite having developed ab muscles and a low body fat%.

Back in the day, guys like Arnold who were only using steroids, still had tight stomachs, despite having big muscles.
If you look around 5:20, even when Arnold relaxes and exhales, his stomach is tight.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-al8...eature=related

But bodybuilders from the 90's on have different stomachs.
(http://www.true-natural-bodybuilding...ders.html-just an article to confirm when HGH abuse started)

If you look at bodybuilders of the HGH era like Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler, etc. as soon as they release their ab muscles, they get the same bloated look.

The fact is GSP's stomach has gradually gotten more distended over the years, despite always having strong abs and a low body fat%, which is what happens after years of using HGH. HGH is super common in sports and MMA. A lot of fighters do it. I don't think of GSP as a cheater or think he is underserving of his accolades as a fighter. I'm just saying that is the reason for his distended stomach.

I'm not claiming to be anywhere near as jacked as GSP but I have the same protruding abdominal thing going on despite low body fat and visible abs. I don't use steroids or HGH so I think it's just genetic.
