if you knew for sure your opponent would throw an overhand left, how would you counter?

how small is the cage that it's not an option to circle away from your opponent?

I don't even get why you need to ask. Just don't touch gloves.

You already touch gloves before the fight starts. Absolutely no need to do it again while on fight clock. Never touch gloves.

If he is going to throw an overhand left, Keep your right hand well up for starters. Then:

Circle left and leg kick.

Alternatively shoot for a takedown.

The faked glove tap is so effective because it is unexpected not because it is a complex riddle with no answer.

I would simply not touch gloves with the guy, because he may throw the overhand left, but hey may throw some other strike or a take down, whatever.

Touching gloves is not essential and if you know this guy is dirty in this regard don't give him any fucking advantages you don't have to.

If you touch gloves with a guy like that you deserve to lose. But good luck.

If you know he is throwing the left wouldn't it just be easiest to just counter with a left of your own? A straight left so it gets there quicker

Why not bait him in with the glove touch and then shoot a single leg. Make him think your playing into his game but really youre two steps ahead.

Funny situation.

Two options;

Not touch at all.

Shoot insta and finish him on the ground.

Let us know how it went.

When is the fight?

This thread is basically about how to defend from an over hand left.
If you don't know how to do that, I'd re-evaluate on whether or not you should be fighting at all lol

edit: I sound like a major douche, but what I meant was, focus less on avoiding the glove touch, and more on avoiding the overhand left he likes to begin with. :p
