Well, I don't know how effective a bulking food it is, but I've found knock-off brand apple sauce to be acceptably cheap.

A big jar of the stuff (sweetened or unsweetened; I realize that sugar might be a hindrance) weighs 3 lbs, costs about $2.50 (it's been a while since I've actually bought one and I have two in my fridge), and it's 100 calories/half cup.

So, that's my $.02. I love this thread! Considering that I'm 5'11" and 160, I might take some of these suggestions into consideration.

Another solid suggestion. Applesauce is great tasting, too!

Anyone who dislikes applesauce enough to flame someone probably doesn't deserve to live, anyway.

I figure someone might be able to answer this without me making a new thread lol . . .

Is it better to mix protein powder with milk or water?

I've read after workouts mixing it with water helps it absorb faster. . . something about the fat in milk . . . .

So milk or water? Or. . . water after workouts and milk before bed?

If anything, the opposite is true.

You can drink milk whenever you want, and take/eat protein whenever you want.
