Have to wait and see how he looks. Like others have mentioned, if he gasses after a round, then obviously, the victory would be a little tainted. Or if he looks noticeably slower/weaker, then I wouldn't give him FULL credit.

Exactly. Too many variables right now. Will really have to wait and see how the fight goes. I think for those on the fence as far as whether or not GSP is ready, the ideal situation for Condit would be if GSP took him down and controlled him for the first round or two and then Condit came back and knocked him out. At that point, it would be very difficult for people to argue that GSP wasn't ready.

I'd pretty much give Condit the same credit I gave Forrest for the first Shogun fight. Give him his credit for winning, but in the back of my mind, think that GSP would beat him in a rematch.

I don't think it's a big "if" for Condit. St-Pierre has been inactive since his fights with Shields. Condit has brilliant game plan and knows to how adopt to his opponent's style. He also has evolved since his days at WEC.
I would still favor GSP to win, but I wouldn't be surprised if Condit pulls an upset.

a gold belt is a gold belt regardless of who you win it against or what shape they showed up in.
I don't think you're going to have to worry about this too much TS.

I say people search too much between the lines looking for anything that can be used to discredit a fighter.
GSP is GSP and everyone can lose in any given night, Condit will have the deserved credit from me.

of course that's what he's going to say? - what would you expect, "yeah, it's a little stiff and i can't quite push off the knee like i used to - definitely a little compromised" - fact is no one is ever 100% ever again after a knee reconstruction - that's just how it is - with st pierre's work ethic and overall positive attitude with most things i'm sure he's gotten as much back as he can - hopefully it's enough that we don't notice it during the fight but basically we just wait and see - plenty of elite athletes have had a number of good years, even great years after an acl tear but all of them have had shortened careers and lose a step, maybe just a small step if they're lucky but at that level it counts
no matter what, with both the knee and the accompanying lay off st pierre is more vulnerable now than he's ever been
