It's not something I would ever use personally, but at the same time it's good to have a guy or two (at least once in a blue moon) who really go for that kind of thing to get experience against it
I wouldn't want to roll regularly against it but I do value having rolled with some guys who used extreme intensity and that kind of a aggressive move

Legit move. I see it in practice more times than I thought after thinking about it.
Don't let yourself into that position imo. I use it.

Nothing wrong with it. I do it and I have a nice arm bar from the position. I've had it done to me. If you don't like something that someone is doing to you, you should learn how to stop him from doing it....crying to the instructor is not good for the fighting spirit.
In my opinion

How do you know how to do it if you don't practice it?

The move is legal, so if you don't like it, just tap and move on. If the guy is being a dick about it and trying to hurt your face rather than using it as a control position, I'd again just tap and move on, because that way we can just get back to training.
I can think of at least one guy in my gym who regularly tries to submit with a knee on the neck and pulling up on your head; yes, it's a dick move in training, but every time he starts going for it and I know I can't get out, I tap early so I don't get hurt and continue rolling. I have nothing to prove to that guy, so who cares.
No reason to get all worked up about this.

That said, as the TS progresses, he needs to man up and learn what mistakes he's making that allow him to get caught in that position, and what he can do to escape if he's already made that first mistake.

Pretty much the conclusion I made as well.

So true. At a certain point a person has to either
1.Let go of "this guy goes too hard" and "this guy presses his elbow (or knee) into my face and it really hurts" or
2.Quit

Speaking of knee on face, I got this from the other thread here
"I always try to pass the Carlson Gracie mentality.. Pass and smash! No funky Bjj, no gogoplata, berimbolo and all this ********* stuff.. We do it knee on the face here.
There is no flow rolling here. War has to be the rule at all times, if you can’t take it, you can leave… Many guys didn’t survive our aggressive training and left to other clubs to do Zen Bjj. Here in Carlson, is the place where the children cry and the mother don’t see. If he survives the training he will be a bad mother fucker for sure mate!"
