its not cheating if nobody knows about it....

seriously though once a week is enough. Breakfast and dinner should be no excuse to have it at home veges and lean mean. Lunch and throughout the day is when you'll get tempted more so always carry nuts and fruit where you go and maybe a protein shake or two in your shaker ready to go i find this helps me.

I used to have 1 cheat meal a week, and always cheat (to excess) on holidays. I no longer have weekly cheat meals because they were delaying my weight loss, but as I just started lifting, I may resume them if it doesn't impact my weight loss.

Also I have read a bunch of recent research that one meal that kicks you out of ketosis can force you to re-adapt to a ketogenic state, requiring 2-4 weeks. More research needs to be done, but initial surveys by Phinney and Volek point at that.

4-5 times a day so technically eating healthy is my cheat meal.

For a serious answer once or twice a week.

Used to have one day to overeat and crank up the calories, usually with pizza, carb heavy meals, burgers, etc. Most of those foods these days make me sick to my stomach for a couple hours after eating them; I can still handle large amounts of pasta and lean beef but a lot of the other stuff is off the menu simply because your body gets pissed when you feed it raw veggies most of the time and then drop a cheese steak on it. Cheat meals pretty much aren't even worth it anymore. It's kind of sad.

I've also found that dropping the sugar out of your diet makes it easier to avoid things like cookies and cake. When they straight up make you feel ill, avoiding them isn't so hard.
