Should I persevere with Fallout 2?

No. You can get the restoration project here (puts in lots of content that was cut from FO2).

dude... what the fuck.... that patch made the game 10 times harder.
I leave arroyo... head south to get to san fran... and I am getting enclave patrols
ever step of the way and dieing... I had to go back to move a square and save.
