in terms of fish, i've found mackerel to be the most calorie dense per dollar.
and wolf brand chili comes in at almost 900 calories per can for the no beans variety, and i've found them on sale for a buck a can.
and how could we forget our old pals ramen noodles and kraft mac n cheese?

Thanks TS. Your list is very similar to what I've been doing. I would just like to point out that if money is an issue, and there is a military commissary near where you live, find a friend who can shop there, and you will save even more. Milk is $2.64 vice $3.70. Eggs $1.44 vice $2. 22oz can of peanuts ran me $2.50. You can also get 4.5oz pouches of tuna for $1.29.

As far as I know, your body doesn't typically create or lose fat cells. They just increase or decrease in size.

You are correct. Nemesis was wrong. Once you reach adulthood the number of fat cells you have is pretty much a constant, they do die and regenerate but that is pretty much a wash. So the number of fat cells increases through early adulthood and then stay the same from then on out, which means if you were skinny when you were younger like me, you have less fat cells to shrink after a bulk.

No problem! I'm glad the rest of the forum decided to contribute as much as they have. I saw your post in S&C, and I realized that this thread was a long time coming. We've had at least 40 of these pop up since I've been frequenting, and I've always thought it would be a good idea to have a go-to thread for all of those people.

The honorable mentions got more and more dishonorable after protein powder.
Chinese buffets? Worst thing ever. Buuut if you're desperate, I guess.

Send a PM to Sinister, see if he'll edit this into the useful threads list.
