It's about as close to Russian mil spec as you can get.
The Zastava PAP is a nice one as well. Century didn't butcher them too badly from what I've seen. Changed out the trigger group, grip, and stock.

Are Aks as inaccurate as people claim? The shot group on that web page is pitiful.

You could spend more than a top of the line AR and shot nearly as good as a random M4 out of the rack

Just picked up the GSG 522. Tossed a Sig Sauer red dot on it. Will post pics later.

You're right, the grouping on that is so awful I would not have taken a picture and put that up on the web personally. The short answer to your question is no, they are not as inaccurate as myth and legend has it. But that grouping does not do too much to support my claim.

If you purchase a relatively good AK variant, such as an Arsenal SGL you will see respectable accuracy out of the box in my experience. It may not rival an AR platform, which is a very accurate rifle, but it will be respectable from my experience.

One of the things I noticed about that target pictured and referenced above is the rifle that apparently did the shooting. Those receiver covers with the scope rails are notorious for not being able to keep a zero with a scope attached, which is why you will see a lot of ak's have a scope base attached to the receiver rather than receiver cover. I figured this out pretty quickly years ago, but not before ordering one and finding out the hard way as usual lol.

No, they're not. I don't know where people get that shit. Probably from AR fanboys.

What the others have said, and I'd also add the AK 74 variant in 5.45 x 39 tends to group better in my experience.

Just traded into a Glock 22 Gen 3 w/ night sight, wolf springs, Ghost trigger, 3 mags w/ grip extensions, two holsters for it, and a box of ammo for a S&W 65 .357 and $125. Now, I know next to nothing about Glocks other than they are about the easiest damned things to flip/ trade in the world. Think I did well?
