What does creatine actually do?

Ive taken it for the last couple of days before my workouts but I dont feel anything. I always thought it was a workout supplement like a energy bar/protein bar.

At a high level, creatine retains water in/around your muscle (depending on the strand) and allows your muscles to easily grab the water to replenish themselves. It also increases how many satellite cells donate themselves to improve muscle hypertrophy. Allows you to push a bit further and helps muscle grow. Strength generally only improves about 5% from creatine, but that's quite a bit when you're pushing for that last rep.

wat. Searchbutton creatine doesn't do any of that. Maybe the inferior brands do.

If creatine actually did improve strength about 5% then that would actually be considered a pretty massive improvement.

If.

5% is huge. If I use creatine for a year and my deadlift is 200kilos, I can improve an extra 10kg (22lbs) from creatine. Skeptical, whats the source, Snarly?
