Guys like you never concede to the better man, the differing view, the alternate perspective. Because you are afraid.

I never implied that I was better than the red belt. I will be the first to admit that I'm not very good, and that I have a long way to go. The problem with you is that you've never admitted that, not once, despite the fact that your avatar, which I sincerely hope is not you, depicts a smug-looking kid with a green belt.

Did I ever imply that bag work was a replacement for sparring? Perhaps if you improve your reading comprehension, you'll be able to better understand why this subforum views you as a nuisance.

And I apologize for failing to accurately reproduce your 20 paragraph rendition of an "exchange" that certainly lasted no longer than five seconds. I must have drifted off somewhere in the midst of your rambling.

Discipulus, KS is heated because he thinks you are my sock puppet and I'm screwing with him.

Could you quantify in a short paragraph what exactly, specifically, you get out of doing 1 step sparring? I know you have said it before, but it is always wrapped up in a larger conversation.

^^^ From a coaches perspective, particularly business & marketing, you have done the important thing.

All this stuff about 1-steps is not mainline. Discipulus's personal musings (and he can put up a great thread.), 'sock puppets,' that kind of stuff, however mainline, is not fitting my agenda. Great marketing, I'm sure....

I'm a serious fighter. I choose to limit my actual contests to achieve belt-ranks, not exhibitions. OR, when I CHOOSE, to test my development level.

Look, I'll think on this. In the meantime, thx.

1. Yet you crap on others.... And on their avatar, a pic of young man karateka with a green belt? That's really a serious problem we {the forum} should look into... You just dig yourself a bigger hole with this lingo stuff....

2. Reading comprehension, I was just going to say that, misnomer that it is. Your writing ability and post work is very good. It's how you apply it as if anyone who challenges your beliefs [ego too] is _________________. [fill in the blank test].

You're the kind of person who only wants to talk to people like yourself. You should do that, by all means....

3. Yeah, you can't get 1-steps and mentally disciplined principles of karate. WE GET IT.... You're a sore loser and insecure in what you can't comprehend... WE GET IT.... No need to be a nuisance....

Go back to your nifty MMA shorts that all the guys like you are wearing and the 'heavy metal' rock training music which is OK as personal taste, not as an excuse for intolerance....

Drift off. fine. so?

I love this. "WE GET IT."

Who is "we?" You're the only one who agrees with your own nonsense, mang.

Don't own board shorts, listen to a wide variety of music. Once again, everything not Karate defies KarateStylist's understanding. Then again, that's mostly true for most things Karate as well.

And I definitely don't need writing advice from a guy who writes like James Joyce with a head injury.

1. I luv it too, because you can't accept anything but what the group dictates.

2. Yes, the group is definitely with you.... and that's why you win. Forbid the thought of you having to do anything AS AN INDIVIDUAL--on your own, like
SPIRITED SPARRING....

3. REfreshing. Brilliant. You should get on staff @ Mayberry. "Once again, then again," yahhhhhhhh....

4. More clever. Spanky and Our Gang are asking you to run against Rush Limbaugh.... go for it.... Just don't do the peds thing....

LOL, there is some grade 'A' work in this thread if you take the flame light heartedly. Enough of the personal attacks please, your both right about the other to 'some' extent. If you can't post something funny, positive or useful, don't post at all

Also, belts don't mean s**t.

I wanna know what happened next

Pls point your op ed to the 'crew,' for instance when they criticize the 'green-belt' in my avatar.... And it's 5 against 1 {me}. This has been done multiple times, new depths of SHALLOW, which you've just confirmed.

And I was supposed to learn, just like the clucks here who just got chewed out @ another T, how far I had to go, getting my 1st belt, to be able to stand up to my test-sparring red-belt opponent.... You're correct, belts didn't mean poop in that instance.

The point about the red-belt is that the guy was experienced, tough, and determined--just like the standard seen in MMA--and had a 'winning' formula that a large percentage of the students @ the dojang also was under the impression was a winning 'karate' formula....

There's an awful lot of copy here about the technicals of boxing.... but technical will not carry you beyond a certain level.... The red-belt was also an excellent example of that FAIL.

pLS also acknowledge that I had recounted that the red-belt, a strong fighter by dojang standards for his rank and below.... beat the crap out of a 3rd degree black-belt with about 5-6 years training or more.... so in addition to belts, years aren't an absolute either.

>> Makes me curious why the pick & choose of portions of my case studies, leaving the broader and key points out of context. We're not @ the gym where you're going to directly loose students & $$$ from straining the lazy thinkers....

Right SummerStriker....

So let me get this straight. The red belt's winning strategy was to throw two consecutive round kicks at your head that had literally no chance of landing? And that worked on others from your school how?
