I read on another forum a cheap/easy way of modifying the finish on blade steel.
The knife I used was a Benchamde 950-1 Rift. I don't have any personal before pics, but here's someone else's pic of how the blade looks from the factory (matte satin finish):
That's probably my least favorite finish on a blade. Looks plasticky.
Here is my picture after it's been acid-etched and then stone-washed.
I really like the weathered/antiquey look, particularly for this knife since the scales are so organic-looking.
