I think Werdum is somewhere in between a small and medium heavyweight. When I think "small heavyweight" I think Fedor, Cro Cop, Randy, and Cain. When I think medium heavyweight I think Gonzaga, Mir, Sergei, and Barnett. (and when I think big heavyweight I think Bigfoot, Brock, Carwin, Rogers)

but Cain is bigger than Werdum.

Cain is 247 lbs

Even though he is at 240lbs - I was at the last Striekforce show and he looked the biggest and tallest on the stage when all 8 fighters came out. To me he looked taller and bigger than Antonia Silva, the same impression i got when he was taking pictures with fans after the show -he looked huge. On the other hand, Alistar Overeem was the 2nd smalest one after Fedor. Go figure.

Yeah, the whole small/medium/big thing is pretty nebulous and arbitrary.. Cain has fought between (I think) 236 and 244 and is 6'1". Werdum has fought between approx 238 and 256 and is 6'4". He has a bigger frame IMO.

Werdum weighed in at 256 (- UFC 90 WEIGH-IN RESULTS | MMAWeekly.com) against JDS in the UFC but when in shape he is around 240 as the poster below pointed out.In his fight with Fedor he weighed in at 238.5 but was in a lot better shape then the JDS fight obviously,Fedor just looked his usual chubby self.

Bigfoot says he wasn't prepared to go three rounds hard and wilted in that fight. He said that after that fight he trained to go a full three rounds.
