PETA's New Ad Inspiration: Microwaved Baby
Hardly surprising. This is PETA afterall...
Quote:
A national animal rights group is using a recent Sacramento case about a mother allegedly microwaving her child to death as the inspiration for an ad campaign.
PETA released a statement to FOX40 explaining the new billboard “that features the image of a person who is about to pop a pork chop into the microwave next to a picture of a loving mother pig and reads, “Everybody's Somebody's Baby. Go Vegan.’ ”
The group says they are in negotiation with outdoor advertisers to put up this billboard “in the wake of Tuesday’s arrest of a Sacramento woman for allegedly microwaving her infant daughter”.
Ka Yang faces allegations she put her 6-month-old child in the microwave and turned it on. The baby girl was found dead earlier this year. Yang admitted to Sacramento officers she had a seizure and dropped her baby on a space heater. However, investigators say that is not possible based on the burn marks, which they identified as being from a microwave.
Yang was assigned a public defender at a Thursday court hearing, she’ll be in court again on July 14th.
PETA’s founder, Ingrid E. Newkirk stated in the press release that all animals mourn the loss of their babies when they are taken away. “We're horrified at the thought of microwaving a helpless baby and hope that this billboard will open hearts and minds to the grief of other mothers who have their babies torn away from them simply to satisfy humans' fleeting taste sensations," says Newkirk.

What a horrible story.
And Peta goes faaaaar over the top, as usual. And as piglets aren't microwaved alive the situations are not even comparable in this regard.

Why give these people more press? Their entire agenda is baseless, backed by self righteousness, hypocrisy, and ignorance. These people deserve no recognition or media attention.
Its simple, On what goods has humanity gotten to where we are now? Better yet; How many of them would be living today if they grandfathers didn't ride horses, eat meat, or trade animals?
Another note; Plants are living things too, should we eat them?
Stop making peta threads, these people need to vanish into oblivion and giving them publicity doesn't help. You are doing exactly what they want; free advertisement. They make up some bull shit controversy and then everyone feeds on it. Just forget about them, they're pathetic

Comparing (higher) animals to plants is pretty much as retarded as comparing piglets to kids.

Says who? Plants can be equally as important to everyday life. Did you know the ratio of plants is 10:1 to bottom feeders and 100:1 to humans and other animals higher on the food chain. Without this balance the world's animals are toast, but guess what? Plants will live on.
I'm not advocating tree hugging but if you want to protect something for general reasons you need to protect all things that fall within that reason.
I personally could care less how we harvest a crop or kill a chicken as long as we work towards global sustainability. I think you're looking too far into my statement and I'm probably doing the same regarding yours.

Well, that was going to be my response.

I really have no idea why you bring up the ratio of plants to animals/humans. What the hell does this have to do with this topic?
