Congress Plans A Very Difficult Work Load For 2014

Yep your members of Congress apparently are pretty tired after all the work they did in 2013 working for like a 132 days are cutting it down to 114 days. Yep your members of Congress will work at about 1 day out of 4 days. They are planning a schedule that would require them working 8 days a month. Congressmen who pull down 174,000 dollars a year are looking to cutting down their work schedule even more. Of course they will say they are meeting with constituents. Right now congressman and senators spend about 1/4 of their time meeting with political donors. More and more time is spent raising campaign cash. Should people start a group like tea party or OWS and demand these guys to spend more time on the peoples business? These are the same people who complain that people are not working hard enough for their food stamps LOL?

All that tells you is that these guys are on the floor of the congress less, they're jobs in the home district are just going to take up more of their time.

As I posted many of these people will be meeting with political donors. More and more a few less established congressman have complained about how much time they talk to donors. One new congressman stated that he is being pressured to spend as much as between 4 to 6 hours a day some days to meet with donors. He said he had not even found an apartment yet in DC and was living in his office but still was pressured to meet with supporters "donors". He said its part of the job but he still could care less for it.

Yeah, it's tough for newly elected guys, they're target for primary and reelection fights, they don't have a ton of campaign money banked and they get less than a year to accomplish anything before they're up for reelection.

I wish they would cut it down to about 30 days. One nice long delegislative session.

I suggest a referendum. GPS ankle bracelets for all elected officials. Work schedule aside, they need to be on call 24/7. Additionally it's for their own safety. Consider it part of security detail. Can't protect 'em if you don't know where they are at. Might as well draw some blood for health insurance rate purposes and drug testing at the same time they take the oath and get accessorized. I'd like to ask soldiers about giving yourself to the government during service contracts and what that means in terms of sacrificing privacy and free time. See if they think knowing where your top politicians are at all times.

Then we just correlate this with the phone metagpsdata of all the journalists, lobbyist, cronies, blah blah and now we're not experiencing information asymmetry to the degree that our politicians would prefer.

As long as their pay is cut I don't see a problem. There's a big supply of politicians but not much of a demand.

Its like they are in a constant campaign cycle and they cannot get out of it. Even established Politicians find themselves spending more and more time with donors.
