Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch and Ben Foster May Join Peter Berg’s LONE SURVIVOR
Lone Survivor, Peter Berg’s adaptation of Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell’s autobiography, is finally heating up. Last year, after Universal had made a deal with Berg to fund Lone Survivor if he made Battleship, it looked like the director and star Taylor Kitsch would be teaming up for the Navy SEAL project. While that assumption hasn’t changed, Berg is currently in talks with Mark Wahlberg and Ben Foster to fill in two more of the film’s Navy SEAL quartet. Lone Survivor is the true life story of how Luttrell (Wahlberg) and his SEAL team fought back against a Taliban ambush while on a mission to kill a terrorist leader in Afghanistan. Hit the jump for more on this project.
Deadline reports that not only are Kitsch, Wahlberg and Foster circling the film, but that Emmet/Furla Films has also come on board to help with financing. Berg spoke with Deadline last May on the progress of Lone Survivor, saying:
“Bin Laden’s death has cleared the way for this, a movie that will be an unapologetically patriotic film that honors and pays homage to an incredible group of badass guys who do this. The film will be a bit like Black Hawk Down, but it will focus on the quartet, which is fewer guys than that film.”
The first trailer for Piranha 3DD has gone online. For everyone who loved the first movie, the new trailer wants to let you know, “All that stuff you liked? The boobs, the gore, the silliness, and all that stuff? Yep. That’s all here. Enjoy.” The film also stars Danielle Panabaker, Ving Rhames, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, Gary Busey, Meagan Tandy, Katrina Bowden, David Koechner, David Hasselhoff, Christopher Lloyd, and Paul Scheer. Piranha 3DD currently does not have a release date.
