Foods, etc. to avoid with an ignition interlock

I was hit up for a DWI several months ago and am having an ignition interlock installed in my vehicle as I type this. I'd like to know what foods will set it off. I've heard of bread, mouthwash, aftershave, gas, some gums. I need a more thorough list of things to avoid.

If anyone has any experience with these devices and what not to eat please share. I can't fuck this up.

Does vodka count as a food?

dude you're fine....Just avoid alcohol consumption before driving. The device will read blood alcohol levels, not bad breath

Alcohol

If the device is accurate than there shouldn't be anything you could eat that would set it off unless you are using mouthwash or spray right before you step in the vehicle.

Also, doesn't this device just disable the ignition? If so it's not like your going to jail if it detects alcohol, it just won't let you drive the car.

Interlocks are calibrated lower than police breathalyzers so foods that contain alcohol or what the machine thinks is alcohol can set them off. Bread has yeast, etc.

No I will not go to jail if I test positive, but an additional month will be added to my term for a positive test. Up to four positives in my year term and my license is suspended.

I work with a guy who had one for 6 months. He didn't change his diet at all, and never had an issue. Don't sweat that stuff.

Also, if you're that damn worried about it, call them and ask if there are any foods you should avoid to prevent a false positive. Pretty simple question.

A friend at work had one and only once had an issue, and that was with mouthwash. He didn't do anything else different (except not drink and drive).
