I had a problem where it would blue screen everytime i watched a video, turned out it was my video card crashing the computer cos it couldn't handle divX, what a shitty computer that was.

has it always been like this or just recently? If it's just recently, then just do system restore to a day you remember when you didn't have this problem.

try defragmenting your computer, deleting huge files/programs that you dont use anymore.

i had the same problem, for example i couldnt play a youtube video for more than 2/3 mins without the computer freezing, it turned out to be overheating.

When all else fails, upgrade your video card. That might also mean you'll probably need to upgrade everything else as well.
