Can the DMV detain you if you have a warrant for your arrest?

LOL my freind is scared shit less to go to the DMV beacuse he thinks he has a warrant for his arrest.

and I have no idea but I'd think as long as there are no cops there, no one has the right to detain you.

I don't think they can, they can try to do a citizens arrest, but I haven't heard of one being done in a long time.

I got a better idea, why doesn't your "friend" go turn himself in and get his stuff taken care of before they have to call in "The Dog".

Which is easy for them "Oh, this can be a quick fix, just go stand in line J and they should be able to take care of this really quick" then the cops show up.

I told his ass to buy a background check online or sumthing. I doubt they would, anyway he is going later on. I will tell you guys what happens.

Not likely. DMV employees do not have arrest powers, but in my state, the DMV offices are at the State Police Barracks. There are such things as citizens arrests, but that is for crimes in progress.
