Gangster in past 20 years: City of God
In the standard tradition of sherdog, I must insult you and call you names because I have simply never seen City of God.

I thought it was more a western than anything else.
Well if it makes you feel any better, if we are considering that a western then it is by far my first choice.

Yuk. Sorry. I can't get past Leonardo DICaprio trying to look like a bada** gunslinger in that movie, he looks like such a wimp in that movie..... But he is a good actor, nonetheless...

How can City of God be a gangster movie there aren't any Italians, the crime isn't organized, no one gets "made" etc.? It just is. Same with No Country. It is totally a western story. Hunter finds a bag of loot. Hired gunman with his own set of principles tries to get it back. Flawed sheriff tries to stop him but isn't brave enough to really do anything. How can it be anything other than a western?
