Sanshou World Championship 2011

I love the high kick counter trip at 11:26.

Best fight at 13:00. Highly competitive, with side kicks, throws and everything.

Nice, here in Europe in kickboxing Andrei Stoica has sanshou (wushu) background. And he was a damn good fighter, European champion.

It is. I don't think MMA gloves were well known enough back when Sanshou was being approved as a combat sport.

But at the same time, Sanshou is not MMA. Clinch is limited to seconds and your knees are not allow to touch the ground when going for a double or single.

Not sure what background either the 2 guys in the fight at 13:00 in the 2nd vid come from, but I doubt it's one with much grappling.

The guy in red is almost fighting TKD style with quick kicks and a low guard, grabbing onto the guys gloves when he comes in for a clinch and holding on for dear life.

I've gotta say, I prefer the vids i've seen of the European fights, with guys like Muslim Salihov. This is still good, but the guys like the Russian fighters seem to have better fundamentals.

I mean, in the first vid, the guy in black dropped to one knee throwing a wild hook, losing points in the process

EDIT: just realized that Salihov is in the 1st vid, oops
