While likely intended for humor, Breen's article comes off as written with an air of smug superiority rarely seen outside of a San Francisco drum circle.

Thesaurus.com just called, they want their hyperbole back.

I thought the article was pretty good. I agree with Breen in that January certainly did not live up to the hype, and that the ongoing "Grease-Gate" controversy took away some of the luster from what was truly a career-defining performance by GSP. I liked Breen's description of Tito Ortiz's commentating as well, but he should have talked about Tito's interviewing skills. I still laugh when I think about Tito's interview with Babalu.

I dug it, though I do think a well written perspective on greasing remains out there somewhere.

All in all, a great read on how such a healthy month collapsed on the laurels of reality.
