Icon10 Quinton "Rampage" Jackson wants oblique kicks and spinning back elbows BANNED

As if "Rampage" couldn't be any unhappier with the UFC! Today, a video was uploaded where Jackson was talking to ESPN UK about how oblique kicks and spinning back elbows should be banned.

The name "Jon Jones" never came out of Jackson's mouth during the interview, but this is what he had to say about the moves.

"It should be called the illegal kick, I thought that move was illegal." Jackson said.

"I think it should be banned and it shows a lot about the fighters character. How would he like it if you kicked his knee and he can't work for a year or two years.

"I thought it was an illegal move, but I trained for it because the referees don't want to stop it.

"I think the spinning elbows should be banned too because they land on the back of the head."

Fans have showed their displeasure with the technique as Jon Jones continues to implement the legal technique in numerous of his fights -- Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans, Vitor Belfort and obviously Jackson himself.

Jackson fights Glover Teixeira, in what he says is his final UFC bout, on Jan. 26 in Chicago on the UFC on FOX 6: Johnson vs Dodson card.

I think he's right about the oblique kick. It can put a fighter out of comission for ages or even end their careers. Spinning elbows can land lots of places besides the back of the head. If they do land there, then the fighter that threw it should be held accountable.

I can understand the part about oblique kicks, because they are kinda cheap and dangerous. But the part about spinning back elbows makes no sense.

That wasn't his argument, but thanks.

It is rough watching a guy kick another guy's knee like that, but in the end I don't think we need to be banning more moves.

And if a spinning elbow did hit the back of someone's head, it would be illegal, no?
