Mike Winkeljohn: Jon Jones will soon reach Anderson Silva-level striking
"Since he's come to camp, I'm real blessed that this young man listens and he went from being mostly a wrestler to now he's turning over to becoming a great striker in the division. He's almost there, he's almost to that Anderson Silva place where he is going to start getting those one punch and one kick knockouts. Just wait, you haven't seen anything yet."

Well if anyone can get there, it's probably Jon Jones.

JBJ is a phenom and among the greatest talents in MMA's short history. That said, he'll never approach Anderson's striking prowess. Winkeljohn is delusional.

Winkeljohn is doing his job raising the stock of his pupil.
But realistically, he'll never be on Silva's level...

He is a great athlete with a body type that lend itself well to striking.
I'm not sure if he will ever be as good as Silva, but he has definitely been improving a lot.

He's bigger, slower, and lacks fluidity of Anderson, so I don't think so.

What is Anderson Silva level striking?
Jones fights entirely different than Anderson.
He'll have his own level.
Did we used to say that Sugar Ray Leonard had Muhammad Ali level striking?

Well, to parse his words, he only means that Jones is going to develop a level of striking sufficient to stop opponents (instead of elbows, I guess). That is not an outlandish prediction.
It would be totally outlandish to suggest Jones would develop Silva's full arsenal. I suspect Silva has weapons we have yet to see. I mean, we haven't even seen him taste his own blood in the ring yet.

Anderson evolved into he monster he is now.He wasn't the force he is now several years ago.
Bones is only 25.Wrap your heads around that fact.He has several years left to evolve and become much better.Dude is a prodigy like Anderson.
I'm not saying it will happen but i'm willing to bet he becomes a very dangerous striker in the future.
His fight IQ is also phenomenal. This will make him a great striker.Anderson knows when to throw his punches. It isn't just his power and accuracy.
