Jon Jones - "I dont want to be the guy who beats Anderson"
Jon Jones on 710 ESPN Radio -
Beto Duran - "Why wont he fight you?"
Jon Jones - "To be dead honest, we both have a lot to lose... I don't want to crap on his greatness, I dont him crapping on my greatness..."
"We both have sponsorship deals that are really important to us... and a big part of that is being a winner, being a Champion, and having us fight each other, someone's Championship is going away...
"I respect Anderson so much, I don't want to be the guy to beat him... I don't want to lost to him either.

I dont know what to say to this. I want to see this fight very bad, but understand where he are coming from. And regardless of legacies, fighters should avoid fights like this if they want to really become great.

No one loses a belt if they fight at a catch weight.

He wants to spare Anderson, how nice. At least he knows he would destroy him

Surprisingly honest from Jones.
I was expecting 'we're friends'.

He is respecting Anderson way to much. Just beat his ass and stop talking. Can anybody here imagine what Silva would look like if Jones had him down over 4 mins in a round with those nasty elbows. I think Silva would be killed. Jones is far from a pillow fisted Sonnen.

I suppose this is the best way he could have put this, maybe less the "crapping". I would have to say Anderson has more to lose. Jones still has plenty of years in front of him to re-establish himself, whereas Anderson I would imagine is a fight or two away from retiring.

I can understand where Jon is coming from, but at the same time I think the fans deserve to get to see the matches they want to see. The fans, afterall, are what keep this sport going.
