I'd say NFL training and training for fighting are two different things. Those guys are trained for quick intervals during a play but whatever. I guess bench press means better athlete. Now if you mentioned Olympic athletes that'd be better.

Because NFL players get payed so much, I'd definitely say it would attract greater athletes than the Olympics.

Gay porn from the 70's called, it wants its handle bar moustache back.

I think this guy is full of shit and is jealous. Here's the thing. Watch movies and pop culture from the 1950's to the late 90's. Anytime there's an athlete who is supposed to be a bad ass, it's a football player. That's how America thought for decades. Footplayers were always the big tough guys in high school movies, bar bouncers in movies were always ex-football players etc etc.

Now, that's not the case. MMA Fighters are considered the big bad ass athletes and I think this guy is butt hurt by the fact that Americans no longer look at guys his size or strength and go "whoa, he's must be a tough bad ass". Most people see the reality is a guy like Wanderlei would knock the shit out him in an actual fight.

As far as NFL offensive lineman talking about handling/beating Brock in some way I prefer the Stephen Neal approach. Plus beating him for the NCAA title in college trumps whatever he did.

BTW for that other guy Neal was simultaneously preparing for the NFL and while being barely edged out in the final qualifying match for the Olympic team.

Well fighting isn't all athleticism anyways. You have to have a fighting foundation. Look at Johnnie Morton. But I get your point. The athletes in MMA are going to get better.
