reads like a Wikipedia article with f-bombs sprinkled throughout. Not very insightful, and not something you can't hear from any whitebelt on sherdog. Kinda disappointing really.

No elbows on the ground is a superb idea! I hate fights that ends via cuts with a passion. KenFlo has ruined many fights for me. >_<

Joe...
Wull I am going to have a look... Aside from his stoopid attacks on other peoples belief systems, he is a people person..
I normally dislike comedians, for their cheap shots...
But he is an otherwise likeable guy...

One more key thing about Pride FC I'd mention is that there was such a strong emphasis on ending the fight. This was hinted at regarding outlawing elbows to avoid an indecisive doctor's stoppage, but just in general they were very adamant about rewarding the guy who tried to finish the fight decisively. Being in a good postion or controlling your opponent (which I think leads to more lnp attempts, or at the very least holding your opponent down while in a dominant position but not doing much to actually finish him) weren't as important as finding a way to either KO or submit him. They'd let you do your thing for awhile standing or on the ground, but if you screwed around too long, you started getting yellow cards and saw huge chunks of your pay disappear.
