How many mma fighters are out there with over 5 fights?

i was just wondering how big the active mma community is as in how many professional fighters are out there? i'm not considering fighters with 5 or less fights because i would say most of those are either doing this as a hobby or chances are they won't continue on
anyone know the statistics?

What if it's five fights in a 1 to 2 year span ? Would that be considered dedicated enough ?

Brock has only fought 5 times and has held the HW belt for almost a year...Would you not consider him apart of your list either?

What about Cain Velasquez this time last year?

Todd Duffee?

I cant give you an overall MMA Statistic but i can give you a UFC one.

Only 173 fighters have had 5 or more fights inside the UFC. Link

i'm not saying everyone with under 5 fights is not dedicated but for the sake of this question is makes no sense to consider guys with 2-3 fights because MOST of them are not trying to make a career out of this

shut the fuck up i'm not knocking fightes with under 5 fights just trying to see how big the mma community is
over 90% of fighters with under 5 fights are not looking to go into this full time, i personally know a few who only fought a few times and do wanna give it a run to try to fight for a living but i'm speaking on average

There is a good reason for this thread. Like i just said before only 173 fighters have had 5 or more fights inside of the UFC and thats out of 696 fighters who have competed so you can see its a huge difference.

Shut the fuck up?

Where did I say you were knocking fighters?

I'm just saying your criteria is retarded at best.

The amount of MMA fighters has grown exponentially. It would be cool of some college did a study of MMA's growth throughout its history.

My guess is close to 100k (world wide) if you count amateur bouts. These happen on a regular basis here in the Houston area, I assume this is across most of the Major citys in the US/Brazil/Japan and some European/Asian countries.

Edit: I see you were talking about professionally.
