Here's an idea: strip Jones and have Machida v Sonnen for vacant belt
There's simply no way they should allow Jones to pull this shit. Once Dana does this Jones will know he fucked up. It will hurt the UFC a bit in the short term but help in the long run - both with the Jones situation and the broader view of letting champs know who the bosses are.
Jones will rip through Bellator or SF and then return to massive hype in the UFC. No problems.
And we get to see an intriguing grudge match up between Lyoto and Chael.
Everyone wins except Jones. And it may do him some good as well in the long run.

I don't know about putting Sonnen in there, but yeah, I agree. Maybe the Shogun/Machida rubber match for the title?
Sonnen's coming off a pretty embarrassing loss at 185, no way he should get a title shot unless it's an emergency, last-minute thing (like replacing Hendo).
The amazing thing about all of this is that I hated Sonnen for his trash talk against Silva. Against Jones, though, this has actually been pretty funny, mostly because Jones was stupid enough to engage Chael Sonnen in a war of words...and that's a war Sonnen will always win.

Nah I think to strip him because he refuses a fight is wrong, all I can do is hope machida knocks him out. But yea if he does it again, say refuses to fight machida he definitely should be stripped.
