GSP doesn't seem set on fighting Anderson, says Weidman is "at another level"
Here are some quotes from an interview with GSP today. He seems to have a pretty high opinion of Weidman.. Diplomatic enough about a potential fight with Anderson, but I'm sure some people will think he's scurred. What do you think?
Quote:
I’m interested to fight whoever they put in front of me. I’m not afraid of nobody. I want to make the biggest fight. Right now, I just came back from a long time off, and I think the first guy in line is Carlos Condit. So I’m going to get who they give me.
You never know what's going to happen in the future. A lot of things can change. There are a lot of big fights coming up. Chris Weidman, I've seen him in training. He's at a different level. He can be world champion if he fights Anderson first. So, this fight is not written in blood. If all goes well and all the stars are aligned, yeah, maybe one day it will happen. But right now, I just came back and I need to fight Carlos Condit.
Who knows? I don't know. By the time I get there, maybe there's going to be a new other guy that will be the next big thing and I’ll be fighting that guy. Things go fast in mixed martial arts. You never know. There's a lot of guys that want to fight me.

Do GSP and Weidman train at the same place?
edit: Because if they do, then I wouldn't say he sounds scared. Promoting a talented training partner instead

By the sounds of it he's not too keen on the Anderson fight, and to be honest who can blame him.

Gsp said anderson is to big for him and he'd have to put on weight and blah blah blah,
people view this as he's scared of anderson.
Anderson said he's willing to come down to WW to fight GSP
people veiw this as he is ducking weidman.
bottom line if you are number 1 and 2 p4p GOAT's or not you still get no respect compared to a 9-0 PROSPECT

It will take the haters about 10 seconds to find someway of turning this into a "GSP is scared thread"...... hell the haters might even be able to turn it into a "Anderson is scared thread"!

He has the right attitude imo, he shoudnt be looking past Condit not an easy fight by any means. Also the Kampmann/Hendricks winner will give him a run for his money should he beat Carlos.
