The Greatest UFC Fighter of All Time

Let me start with this: Okay so I recieved the UFC encyclopedia as a gift for christmas from one of my good friends.. (You really gotta pick it up if you are a true MMA fan, it has EVERYTHING in there from almost every fighter to ever compete and detailed info about every event, plus many other interesting facts such as records etc.)

I was looking at the section that had the UFC records, and I was looking at the record of most octagon wins.. Then I was thinking, the fighter with the most wins really should be classified as the best ever right? I mean they have been fighting top level competition and thats just a great indication of who is the best..

Holds the record for most octagon wins - 18

I considered Anderson Silva the best of all time until i noticed this.. Spider isnt too far behind in octagon victories, but MMA fans have a real short memory span.. Yes Anderson is undefeated in the octagon right now, put people forget just how DOMINANT Matt Hughes really was.. With that large amount of victories, especially since a LOT of them were title shots.. I gotta give the edge to Matt Hughes..

I wouldnt be surprised at all if Anderson soon takes the top spot of all time in the UFC.. and he IS very close, actually he probably will be in one or two more fights.. but i give the edge to Hughes at this very moment...

I two fighters that I want to get beat up all the time... Matt Hughes is one of the Fighters I always want to see win......... But one of the said fighters I really really dislike and want to see get beat up everytime he steps in the cage has better record and in my opinion is best fighter on planet... And I wanna watch him get his face smashed...... Anderson Silva has a better UFC Career then my boy Matt..

All but 4 of his fights have been title matches, and one of those 4 wasn't a title fight because his opponent missed weight.

There's no comparison and no logical choice other than Anderson "The Spider" Silva.
