Chuck Liddell hits "punching power machine"

Back on 8/22/06 Chuck was on the Adam Carolla Radio Show. They went to Hooters which had some sort of punching bag rigged to a sensor that gave you a "punching power" reading. The picture of Chuck hitting it is pretty cool.

http://adam.freefm.com/pages/72219.p...ryXRefId=15161

From Adam's blog:
Quote:
Chuck scored a 648 on the Hooters punching bag. Sugar Ray Leonard scored a 530. Chuck shattered the standing record: Adam’s score of 565.
I could have sworn there was a video for this, but I can't find it anywhere.

The machine doesn't have enough digits to register Fedor's punching power.

I hit one of those once and scored 845. Every machine is probably different.

thing about those things is that if you do an overhand punch and connect on the downswing...it will register higher than hitting it straight on with the same power. So assuming chuck did a looping punch it was probably a very high score.

Well, since he frequently uses that swing on opponents, I don't se any problem with him using it on the machine.

I know you didn't make the comparison, but you can't really compare Chuck to Sugar Ray because Leonard was not a knock out artist and he is a lot lighter. Cool pic though, can't make out Chuck

I'd be willing to bet that Chuck hits harder then Fedor, judging by his form. Fedor, of course, hits much faster. I've heard Chuck and Hackleman admit a couple times that he's going for all out power, not accuracy.

Ray Leonard is also close to 50.
