: tape on heavy bag?

hi all. I recently had myself made a 5 feet leather heavy bag. I see some pictures of heavy bags covered with duct tape? what is that good for? should I tape my bag as well?
I am wondering were exactly does the tape need to go and what purpose does it serve.

thanks a lot.

When people tape their bag its because all the filling is sinking to the bottom and getting hard. So what they do is flip it upside down and tape it. It helps a little but it would just be easyer to get a new bag.
