Going to Japan for a year, train Judo or Aikido?

Probably gonna get my ass kicked either way since most of them have been doing it since their youth

Judo by a landslide. Beyond question. I love judo and think it's one of the most underrated tools in the bag. I appreciate a few aikido principles but wouldn't invest my year in Japan on them.

Judo. Judo all the way. Olympic sport and badass fighting art, Japan is the best in the world, do that.

Well, what's your background? What are your goals?

If it was me I'd do Judo hands down, but for all I know you've been doing Aikido for a long time and are really into it. The instruction for either one that you will get in Japan will be among the best in the world.

My background is boxing but seeing my weight class and height, the only way to box would be going to some military base gym

And what are you interested in? What are your goals? My suggestion would be Judo, but maybe you want to learn something more traditional and less physically demanding.

Are you in the military? There's Air Force, Army and Navy bases in Japan.
