As some people have said, you can't expect your trainer to take a lot of time focusing on you in a regular class that is only an hour long, you have to prove yourself which means sticking with them for a period of time and training hard. However it sounds like this coach of yours is ripping you off. No one should be sparring muay thai with at least 6 months experience. Hell, for the first 3 months all I did was footwork drills and basic boxing offence and defence. It was probably over a year before I started to learn how to clinch.

If you're not getting what you want out of your classes, then look elsewhere.

I appreciate the responses. I've decided to look for a better school.

Does anyone know of any schools with solid muay Thai in the eastern Fairfield County, western New Haven county areas of Connecticut?

I did some searches on here but most of the hits are from a few years ago.

From what you said it sounds like someone is pocketing a lot of money w/o putting in much effort. I'd find a gym with at least basic necessary equipment and better coaching. No rings or weights isn't bad, jump ropes are needed, heavy bags are definitely needed.
Agreed.

Like with many things in life, there is coke, and then diet coke.

If you dont give it everything you have, you'll always just be diet coke.
