I wasn't sure where to put this stuff, but I was hoping someone could help me out or give me some info.

So I broke my 5th metacarpal in my hand about 10 days ago but I didn't go to the hospital till yesterday because I figured it was just bruising, that was until I noticed there was a lump sticking out of my hand after the swelling came down.

It looks similar to this except mine had a more distinct angle on it:

http://cdn.lifeinthefastlane.com/wp-...s_Fracture.jpg

Anyway, so I went to the fracture clinic today and he basically said because I've left it so long it's started to heal and there's nothing they can do about it. I asked for a second opinion and he basically said the same thing.

Here's my predicament, because of the angle it's healed at I find it very uncomfortable to make a fist and I can't fully close it, it also looks like I'm missing a knuckle on my little finger because it's halfway up my hand.

I'm pretty worried about this because when I go back to training I'm thinking I'll either end up smashing my little finger since it sticks out, or it'll just be really uncomfortable because I struggle to make a fist. I tried to explain to both doctors I do a lot of boxing so I'd rather have it broken and reset than leave it how it is, but one said they couldn't do that, and the other said because it isn't causing any problems they wouldn't be able to do it.

Anyone had anything similar to this before? Does it cause you any problems during training?
