Stitch praising fighters after the fight.

Id be lieing if i said this doesnt bug me. Imo event staff like the refs, security, the judges etc should be unbiased towards fighters. Seeing him high five, hug and smack the asses of the fighters who win to me is unprofessional. I wouldnt want him working on me my next fight after seeing him hugging and high fiving the guy that just knocked me the fuck out. To me its insulting, Ill go change my tampon now.

How about Eddie Wineland vs Raphael Assuncao at UFC 161?

Assuncao is currently matched up against Vaughan Lee at UFC on Fuel in Brazil on June 8, which is a strange fight anyway considering Lee is way down the totem pole and Assuncao is on a 3 fight streak with his latest win over Easton (who was also on a 3 fight streak). I think that would be a very even matchup and exciting as well.

Tweet Dana so we don't get a lame replacement or scratched fight.

As a way to make contender bouts more compelling how about implementing a tiered belt system? This would also give a fighter a little more reason to stick around in the event that they can not win the belt from the champ.

In boxing there are multiple belts for each weight division, which allows a fighter to stay at a weight and defend a belt even if they aren't the #1 fighter at that weight.

So stay with me here...

Obviously the champ has the gold belt, the #2 fighter would have silver and #3 bronze. Lets use the HW's as an example.

Cain holds Gold, Junior Silver, and Cormier Bronze. In this instance you'd have Cain vs Bigfoot for Gold, Junior vs Hunt for Silver and a future Cormier fight to retain Bronze.

If a fighter with the Silver belt beats the gold belt champion they would simply switch belts.

Another positive to a system like this is it would allow a fighter that ends up in no man's land (Rich Franklin, Jon Fitch, Kenny Florian, Frankie Edgar, Chael Sonnen, etc.) to continue having a relevant career fighting for SOMETHING... rather than just being the guy who can't beat the champ.

If we use middleweight as an example, you could still have Weidman fighting Silva... but then Sonnen may still be defending his Silver, and Belfort his Bronze. This establishes more of a pecking order in a division and also adds a little more intrigue to a fight. I know it could end up being complicated, but you could use the official ranking system to strip any silver or bronze belt holders in the instance of pro-longed injury, weight class changes, or retirement.

I always found it sad when the 2nd best fighter in a division finds themselves lost simply because they can't beat the champ, when there really shouldn't be much shame in being the 2nd best guy in the world... or the 3rd.

Why not have these two go at it while we wait for Anderson to fight Weidman and Jones? Makes sense as both are two of the only "elite" middleweights with back to back wins. Thoughts?

I think at this point it has to be Ronda or JBJ.

Ronda is a media darling, and JBJ is destined to be one of the greatest mixed martial artists ever.

What do you guys think?

160 Main Card Upset?

The main card for Saturday is filled with some heavy favorites. My pick for upset is Noons(+240) over Cowboy(-310) because I think they will stand and trade the entire fight with Noons getting the best of the exchanges. Which underdog would you put your money on?
