They looked and felt really nice, very light. Problem was they fell apart quickly, much faster than other Thai made mitts I've had before.

Now looking online I see shops selling them list them as 'semi leather', in other words fake leather? There is no label on them, but the price was around $75, which is what proper leather gear costs in Thailand. Online they are selling for around $100, expensive for fake leather, some sites list them as 'semi', but some don't (maybe they don't know because it's not labeled?).

Anyone have a pair of these mitts labeled 'semi-leather'?

I'm 181cm tall and weigh 75kg. I own a pair of 16oz gloves for sparring and partner drills.

My gym encourages we use a smaller glove size for thai pads, bag work and clinch drills.
The instructors at my gym told me I could get by with a 8oz or ideally 10oz, but my gym has Fairtex 12oz on sale and is out of stock in the smaller sizes for all brands at the moment.
